Whole Tone Scale
Six equal whole steps - a dreamlike, symmetrical scale with no gravity
The whole tone scale divides the octave into six equal whole steps, creating a perfectly symmetrical scale with no leading tone and no sense of harmonic gravity. Its floating, ambiguous quality makes it a favorite of impressionist composers and jazz musicians alike.
