Blues Scale
Minor pentatonic plus the flat 5th - the note that defines blues
The blues scale is the minor pentatonic with one added note: the flat 5th, also called the 'blue note.' This single added note creates the tension and grit that defines blues, jazz, and rock. It's one of the most expressive scales in existence.
